In 2025, our Volunteer Fire Department responded to 18 calls, including motor vehicle accidents, downed power lines, house fires, and vehicle fires. We are incredibly grateful for our dedicated volunteers who are always on call and ready to serve when the village needs them. Their dependability, commitment, and willingness to step up in emergencies help keep our community and residents safe.
LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS
Call for volunteers. The Sunshine Group (seniors) are looking for volunteers to help with funeral luncheons. They are finding it hard to be the ones primarily responsible. They believe it is a valuable service and recognize they need help if they are to continue doing it. Areas of service include donating squares and/or pickles, helping set up the community hall, helping serve the luncheon, and helping with the clean up afterwards. If you are interested in having your name on a volunteer list or have any questions, please contact Annette Pilipiak directly at 306-291-3267 or annette.pilipiak@gmail.com. Thank you for taking the time to consider this request.
Other Volunteer Initiatives:
1. Flower Planting - Adopt a Pot Initiative
2. Cemetery Clean Up
3. Volunteers for Canada Day Breakfast (Group preferred)
Note from CAO: Volunteers are truly the heart of our community—and the unsung heroes who help keep it running. From the dedicated members of our Volunteer Fire Department, to those who spend time cleaning up ditches and beaches, caring for the church and cemetery, and organizing community events like fishing derbies and sled rally's—our village thrives because of the time and energy that residents generously give.
These volunteer efforts help keep our community safe, welcoming, and vibrant for everyone who lives here and visits. We are incredibly grateful to have such caring residents who take pride in protecting and supporting our village.
If you have a little time to spare, we encourage you to join these amazing individuals and lend a helping hand with the initiatives listed above. Every effort, big or small, helps keep our community strong.
